LinkedIn – And she told two friends, and they told two friends and…

I have to say that I’m pretty impressed by this idea, and its execution.  The service works as advertised.  You upload and invite your best contacts.  They invite theirs, and so on.  Then you can mutually browse and search each others networks, and ask for introductions via mutual connections if you find someone who can help you.

I have 74 people in my network now.  The most connected in my network can reach another 260 people directly, and one person can network with 1600+ people directly or indirectly.  The contacts range from VCs to coders to management … all with huge varieties of experience.

There are some glitches in the UI at this point, like the fact that I can’t remove a bounced request from my action item list, even after I have taken action to repair the problem.  And, it would be nice to have more sophisticated sort capabilities for the results of a search.

But all in all — a great effort.  I can see this being immensely useful.
