The Voip Business Phone Systems
office phone systems are scalable to a large extent, so an upgrade can be made at any time without disrupting the existing connections. A number of extensions can be added without making any further investment.

Hi Alec,

$1095 is a very competitive price for a voip appliance. For me the advantage of an appliance is actually the power saving, running an appliance vs a server that is idling 90% of the time wasting power these asterisk appliances all have an inate advantage.

My only concern is cpu horsepower for larger companies. If you overspec your requirement you'll be fine but through in a conference or a couple of voicemails etc things can bog down.

The one thing i like about the Technoco Vdex-40 (http://www.taa.com/products-vdex-40.html) is that it is the only Asterisk appliance with dual cpu's - one cpu and the associated hardware voice codecs are dedicated to just providing voice throughput so you know your call quality will always be perfect.

Though they dont have a wifi router.... so I guess it's up to the end user whats important.

Eitherway being able to drop an appliance on and end users desk and have them program it up using nothing more than a browser and having the reliability of solid state with no hard drives or fans to fail is perfect.

Cheers,
