Is Facebook’s Spam guard broken?

I don’t know what’s up, but Facebook is warning me at every turn that I am spamming people.  For example, I was chatting with my friend Tom Grate (through wall-to-wall messages) about libertarianism this afternoon, and this message kept popping up:

I’m not sure how wall chats are a misuse of features, nor am I clear about how a personal conversation constitutes spam.  Even more irritating is the fact that my mysteriously spammy behaviour may cause my account to be terminated.
