OpenID and the Telegraph

by alec on January 21, 2008

OpenID seems to be building a head of steam.  Following announcements by Google and Yahoo, this morning UK newspaper the Telegraph announced that they would also become an OpenID provider, the first newspaper in the world and the first British media company to do so.

How about Facebook next?

It’s been interesting to see OpenID go from being stuck in the sand to a flurry of activity. The question is if they (Yahoo, Blogger, etc.) offer it, will users embrace OpenID and use it?

The emphasis so far has been on OpenID providers. But what are needed are OpenID Relying parties and encouraging those few sites that indeed use them.
