Devin Holloway wonders if Google plans to include automatic speech recognition in the Grand Central service. He then speculates that perhaps they're simply not interested in enabling third parties to build applications that integrate with Grand Central. That would be a pity if it were true. Grand Central would be a killer mashup platform.

That is just a brilliant suggestion and bang on in terms of overall Goog strategy. I think one must assume that this will happen and plan around it. Having said that, goog bough Jaiku and that seems to be getting no resources, and has not received any upgrades, or even let anyone new join since it was bought. Perhaps GCS will become a part of a people and availability search?
Let it be known that I REALLY! hope GC becomes a mashup platform!
