Call Me with Truphone on Facebook

by alec on December 6, 2007

Truphone have officially announced their Call Me Facebook application, which I briefly mentioned last week.  The big feature is the embeddable Call Me button.  It can be dropped into any place on Facebook that can take an attachment — you can:

  • Embed your 'Call Me' button within Facebook messages;
  • Post your 'Call Me' button onto a friends wall;
  • Drop your 'Call Me' button onto Facebook groups and discussion boards.

Call Me is an embedded softphone.  That means callers simply click the button, which dials the button's owner, and creates a call between the callers PC and the owners phone.  The owners phone can be virtually any device ranging from a telephone to a cellular phone or an IM client like GoogleTalk.

Cool!
