Warlox Wireless unlocks iPhone

by alec on November 12, 2007

Ever wonder about the real demand for unlocked iPhone?  It must be significant.  While wandering through Boston's Prudential Center on the way to dinner, this bunch of phone geeks (l-r, James Body, Jim Courtney, Jeff Black, Dean Elwood) stopped to chat with the proprietor of one of the kiosks.  Why?

It might have had something to do with the prominently displayed sign offering to unlock the iPhone.  In fact, you can buy the iPhone from these folks and get it unlocked on the spot if you're not sufficiently technical.  Somehow I have my doubts that any of my dinner companions would have had any difficulty.

Further conversation also revealed that these folks, and their iUnlock subsidiary, are becoming resellers of some other products we know well, like the MaxRoam SIM

It looks like the kiosk is next to a donut shop!! Priceless.

I'm hoping Tim Horton's offers this service in Canada soon!

Unhappy Customer June 11, 2009 at 12:43 pm

The owner is a cheap jerk – he sold me the more expensive of the two chargers I could have used, without even suggesting the cheaper one when I was clearly shocked by the price. When I bought one for half the price down the street and tried to return it a couple of hours later, he refused to give me my money back. Even threatened to call security when I wanted to wait until the next customer came up so I could use my credit for their purchase and get my hard-earned money back. Don't shop here. They obviously don't understand the meaning of customer service.
