VoIP Guide

by alec on May 18, 2007

Luca Fillighedu has spotted a new VoIP blogger who has seemingly come from nowhere and grabbed a gigantic subscriber list.  Go check out VoIP Guide.  Seems like there's some reasonable content there too.

Alec Saunders is the Vice President of Developer Relations for BlackBerry make Research in Motion. This is his personal blog, with his personal viewpoints. Prior to this Alec was the CEO and co-founder of Calliflower — the easiest way to hold a meeting, online, on a conference call, or on the go. A double-decade veteran of product management and marketing, he spent nine years at Microsoft where he helped launch Windows 95, the first two versions of Internet Explorer, the Universal Plug and Play initiative, the push into home markets, opt-in email marketing and what might well go down in history as the very first direct email list ever.

Alec,
Interesting to see the top of this blog features this:

VOIP Guide Blog is currently running a Subscription Drive. Additionally, Those who are interested in exchanging links with this blog, please send me email at ut.godmode@gmail.com with your blog link.

Maybe we should all be this blatant. :)

Nice point there mark. Although, i respect your opinion. I must say, it's one way of marketing your blog. If you don't know how to market your blog, you can't be a good blogger can you?

Those exchanging links really don't work well :-) so i didnt make any serious exchanges.

Vinay, how well has the subscription drive worked?

it worked well. It worked really great when VOIP Guide was chosen as Feedburner feed of the day.

But Now am thinking of removing the block completely to see how it's going. I guess it will continue to build up.
