Apple is driving me nuts.
Over the last few days, they've been pushing out an update titled "iTunes + QuickTime" via the Apple Software Updater. I don't use iTunes, and it's not installed on my PC. But I DO use QuickTime. In fact, I have paid for QuickTime Pro. But Apple hasn't provided me with the ability to simply install the QuickTime piece of this update.
It appears to be a cheap stunt designed to put iTunes on my PC. Someone in product management should review this decision.

Agreed. I installed Quicktime recently and it came with iTunes. Couldn’t figure out how to just install QuickTime.

I agree that Apple do try to “encourage” you to download and install iTunes, but you can download QuickTime without iTunes from here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
Choose the 2nd radio button on the left of the screen, uncheck the 3 checkboxes, don’t enter your email address, then click the big “Free Download Now” button, and it should start to download QuickTimeInstaller.exe.
Cheery,
Jason.
I have the same problem, too, every weekend. I’ve already download QT without iTunes, but the software nags every week anyways. Very annoying.
