talk-Now at Ottawa Wireless Cluster

by alec on February 7, 2007

Planning on attending the Ottawa Wireless Cluster event tomorrow evening?  I’ll be there too.  The organizers have kindly given me a 5 minute slot at the beginning of the event to present talk-Now. They said “no sales pitches!”… well, it’s free, and I’m looking for interested people to try it and provide feedback. In other words, not a sales pitch.

LOCATION: bitHeads office, 1309 Carling Avenue, Ottawa
East Side of Westgate Mall (beside the Blockbuster Video Store)
TIME: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm – Networking
7:00 pm to 8:45 pm – Presentations from featured Speakers and Sponsor
         8:45 pm to 9:30 pm – Networking

Everything you wanted to know about Wireless Patents, but were afraid to ask. Speaking will be Luis Estable, of Stikeman Elliott LLP.

With the seemingly endless proliferation of patents, their potential to impact businesses large and small is growing everyday. This session will provide practical hands-on information to address such questions as: “Should I file a patent for my idea?”, “How can I protect my company from infringement on its own products?”, and “What do I do if I discover that my product may infringe existing patents?”

Please join us to network and discuss the business of wireless with professionals from many corners of the wireless sector. The event is open to all wireless professionals free of charge.

Hope to see you there!

by alec on February 7, 2007

My good friend Jon Arnold was in attendance at DemoCamp12 in Toronto the other night, with wunderkind Max, his son.  They shot some photos and video of the Talk-Now demo I gave.

Thanks for doing this Jon!

712 Model BUSTED!

February 7, 2007

Paul Kapustka has done the sleuth-work to figure out how and why Futurephone got shut down.  He got nothing more than “no comment” from the company itself, but discovered that AT&T has been slapped with a $2 million termination charge from the Superior Telephone Coop and has filed suit to recover it. AT&T’s contention is that [...]

Jajah returns to its roots with Jajah Mobile Web

February 7, 2007

It seems Jajah is returning to its roots.  With this morning’s announcement of Jajah Mobile Web (http://mobile.jajah.com) Jajah has returned to the ultra-slim, ultra-simple user interface they started with.  Unlike the Jajah mobile suite announced last fall, which was a download tied to Symbian series 60 phones, this is a simple web interface.  Use the the [...]
