It must be back to school week in Japan as well as here in Canada. In any case, the “long tail” is definitely in action. Mid-week my traffic spiked very high, as thousands of hits poured in from Japan, all going to the entry I wrote 8 months ago about the Mosquito Ringtone, also known as Teen Buzz. This is the allegedly inaudible-to-adults ring tone that kids are putting on their cell phones. Of course, nothing is perfect. This adult could hear the tone just fine, thank you very much, as could hundreds of others who commented on the original posting.
I had to laugh, though, when I had a look at the visitor stats that Feedburner now provides. You’d think this was a Japanese web page!

For a longer explanation of the Mosquito Ring Tone, check out this Wikipedia entry, and the associated entry on presbycusis.
