Tomorrow, publicly traded ADTRAN Inc (NASDAQ:ADTN) will announce the departure of President and COO Danny Windham, effective February 12. Somehow the news made its way onto the wire services a few hours early! Windham will be heading to Digium to take the helm of Digium. According to Nufone’s Jeremy McNamara, Mark Spencer will remain Chairman of the Digium Board, and also take on the role of CTO.Â
Congratulations are due all around.Â
- To Mark Spencer who deserves kudos for having taken Digium to its current dominant position as the hands-down leader in open source telephony. Â
- To Danny Windham for what is obviously the next stage of his career.
- And to Digium who has gained a seasoned executive to help it grow to the next level.

I read this last night, and it certainly captured my interest. The next 24 months for Digium will be interesting times.
