I recently recvd my pearl - at first it was great - I coul;d play all my media files, take pics and display them, listen/watch the preloaded demo .avi and .m4a files. Then, I must have done something, but now I cannot play ANY media - can't look at pics (only see the thumbnails) can't play preloaded media (.avi and .m4a) - and can't listen to my mp3s (installed a 1gig microchip) yet I can set a pic as the background and it displays on the background, I can also set a mp3 as a ring tone, but when I go under media-> and see the files, and also assign them as ringtones or backgrounds. I did something wqrong I trhink. does anyone know what I did and how to fix?

Any help would be greatly apprciated!

Thanks,
Marco

Thanks for the good info about GPS. One word of caution: as easily as the Pearl slips into your pocket, it will slip right out too if you aren't careful. This phone is quite sleek and therefor slippery. This was very costly discovery for me (and I'm not the type of guy that normally misplaces or loses things). I like the Pearl enough though to pay for another. Now I just need GPS and I'll be set.

Thanks again...

Having gone to war with a 7100 that recently found its way to my 6 yr. old niece who can set appointments and adds new contacts to her address book (which scares me), I can tell you firsthand the suretype on the Pearl is greatly improved over that of its predecessors.

I have had somewhat of a hard time encoding video for the Pearl, this is a good thread in the BB forums explaining how to do it.
 <a href="http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/6948-original_video_encoding_8100_a.html" rel="nofollow">http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/6948-origina...</a>

It requires a fair bit of 'geek' to get it to work, why they would not provide a tool is perplexing, but maybe for the same reason you mentioned for not supporting turn by turn.

But most importantly; I am speechless that Howard has daisy's in his car.
