Dunlevy on founders agreements

by alec on December 2, 2006

well, I did eventually get to Barcamp Ottawa. The parking lot outside Bitheads is a skating rink, which made for interesting parking.

I cohosted a session with Michael Dunlevy from Labarge Weinstein on founders agreements. Labarge has a very complete package of agreements which would have been very useful when we were setting up iotum. the discussion was pretty free ranging and complete. I’m willing to bet it will be one of the best attended sessions of the day.

Michael compares founders agreements to a will. They cover the “what-if” scenarios where things go wrong. What if one founder has to take a job? Dies? Disagrees with the other founder(s)?

lf you’re starting a company, it would be prudent to give Michael a call.
