Alec, I've been hearing some reports of a project being built for Google that will be able to access the users of skype and even to the extent of it being built on SIP. After Yahoo and MSN linked up, there have been a lot of activity in the group. Perhaps that makes sense.

Rest assured that it was one option to load onto the evaluation Blackberry 8700 last week. Of course it's the same six contacts I had six months ago; somehow all my "presence" and "chat" is occurring in Skype these days.

I've never seen it (Gtalk) on Gooogle Pack before. But yes it was surprising to see Skype there on Sunday when I was looking to see if GoogleEarth was included in the pack (and no it isn't). Why Skype? why not other open or standards based clients that use SIP or XMPP? Strange. I use the bare bones Counterpath Eyebeam softphone which meets my lowly needs.
