Jeff Pulver pointed out that there will be a reprise of the very popular VON bloggers panel next week. The panel will consist of Andy Abramson, Martin Geddes, Om Malik, myself (as moderator), Brough Turner and Dan York.  We’re in the process, right now, of prepping for the panel, which includes gathering suitable topic material.  Topics may range from the viability of “pureplay VoIP”, to net neutrality, to… well, it’s anybody’s guess. The beauty of an open panel is that we can talk about just about anything.Â
If there are topics you would like to see discussed, mail them to me, or leave them in the comments stream here.Â
Alec Saunders is the Vice President of Developer Relations for BlackBerry make Research in Motion. This is his personal blog, with his personal viewpoints. Prior to this Alec was the CEO and co-founder of Calliflower — the easiest way to hold a meeting, online, on a conference call, or on the go. A double-decade veteran of product management and marketing, he spent nine years at Microsoft where he helped launch Windows 95, the first two versions of Internet Explorer, the Universal Plug and Play initiative, the push into home markets, opt-in email marketing and what might well go down in history as the very first direct email list ever.

Once it becomes possible for people to make SIP calls from one network to another without a pre-existing peering relationship, it becomes possible for malicious users to start flooding those networks with automated calls. Therfore, Is SIP vunerbale to SPIT ?? and what measure are being taken to address these concerns ? an IVR captcha may work at the edge level early adopters, but what about main stream user base moving into the VoIP space ?
Second question: it is rumored that the Yokogawa Electric Corporation is doing some "fun stuff" with VoIP and ipv6.. would the panel care to comment on this speculation ??
