I’ve used Jon’s services at both Versatel Networks, and iotum, and I’ve always found him to be a competent, and deep commentator on the VoIP industry. It’s nice to see him hanging out his shingle a little more visibly.

In More Companies Tell Workers to Silence Cell Phones, USA Today reports due to the productivity impact, more companies are telling workers to silence cell phones on the job, and in some cases banning the devices outright. According to the Society for Human Resource Management, more than a third of companies have policies in place to address the personal use of cell phones.Â
The driving reason for the limits is the noise and distraction that can come with the use of personal cell phones in the office. Fifty-three percent of employees say they feel impatient or angry when a co-worker stops a conversation because of an incoming wireless call, according to a July 2004 survey by Sprint.
