SIPQuest Becomes First Hand, Raises $7 Million

by alec on May 24, 2006

LinkedIn updated two of my contacts this morning — Vish Raju, and Peter Brockmann.  The reason?  SIPQuest has just raised a $7 million C round, and changed it’s name to First Hand Technologies — a name more reflective of their mission to “enable enterprise communications everywhere”.

It’s been quite a transformation for SIPQuest over the last few months.  When CEO David Hattey was hired in the fall of last year, he set about restructuring the company, its mission, and their product line.  This rebranding and recapitalization looks like the final step.

Congratulations!
