Deep Thinkers Online

The first of Ken Camp’s VoIP Thinktank podcasts is online.  It’s a fun discussion between a bunch of us on the social barriers to VoIP adoption.  Unfortunately, I didn’t realize at the time we were recording this, that my kids were streaming video across our DSL link, and much of what I have to say is unintelligible.  Ken, Andy, Dameon, and Ted were all excellent though!

‘Bumping Uglies’ with PhoneGnome

So there I was, bopping through my blogroll, minding my own business, when I came across this beauty titled "E.T. PhoneGnome" ~ he should have called Iotum. Among the gems in it:

Remember E.T. that beloved alien, that wanted to do nothing more than ‘phone home’. Well that tearjerking little movie from the 80′s would have had a quick finish if E.T. had the PhoneGnome – enabled with Iotum’s Relevance Engine. He wouldn’t have missed the call to get back on the damn ship, as that call was very ‘relevant’ to his situation – and the Engine wouldn’t have given up trying to find him.

AOL to Offer Free Inbound Calling

USA Today reports that AOL will introduce a service that gives any AIM user a free phone number for incoming calls.  Called AIM Phoneline, it will be the first service to offer a free phoneline.  AIM Phoneline Unlimited, at $14.95 per month, will add unlimited outgoing calls and long distance, to over $30 countries.  Cynthia [...]
