The Sens redeemed themselves with a 5-1 win over the LA Kings last night. Go Sens Go! Brandon Bochenski, called up from Binghampton to replace Martin Havlat, took advantage of the opportunity to strut his stuff with one goal and an assist. Hashek, true to form, had a spectacular, but unorthodox game.
With the game won, the final moments of the third period were a boxing match, as first Neil, then McGrattan, Kelly and Chara were ejected. 95 minutes of penalties were handed out in the third, 65 against Ottawa. It was old style hockey, with the Senators retaliating for the Kings Avery charging Hasek in the net, and Conroy’s kick to Hasek’s face a few minutes later. In the final moments of the game, Murray pulled Hasek and put Emery in.
"I was very concerned that one of their guys would take a run at Hasek,” Bryan Murray said. "He played an outstanding game and we don’t play them again so I’m not sure why they would, but I just didn’t want to take a chance.”
