For the past few days I’ve been using a new peer to peer file sync utility called Foldershare. This little ditty allows you to set up folders on PC’s, link them to other folders on other PC’s, and then transparently keep them in sync. Every time you make a change to a file on one PC, it’s automatically reflected to all the subscribers. What’s it good for?
- It traverses NATS and Firewalls, so you can keep a synchronized copy of data in your office and at home. I use it for this.
-
It’s also a great solution for backing up files from one PC to another. I do this with the family photo collection.
-
It can be a very effective solution for allowing workgroups to collaborate on documents as well. All changes in a document can be reflected to all the participants.
It was easy to install. Simply go to the website, and download it. They even have a time limited trial if you would like to try before you buy.
