New LinkedIn Feature

by alec on May 24, 2005

I am an enthusiastic user of LinkedIn, as I’ve written in the past.  Their latest feature is great!  It allows you to reconnect with colleagues you worked with by presenting potential candidates who worked in the same organization as you during the same period.  Today I reconnected with Vince Perriello, who spent 10 years working on Microsoft Exchange middleware components, and is now the Technology and Data Services Manager at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Alec Saunders is the Vice President of Developer Relations for BlackBerry make Research in Motion. This is his personal blog, with his personal viewpoints. Prior to this Alec was the CEO and co-founder of Calliflower — the easiest way to hold a meeting, online, on a conference call, or on the go. A double-decade veteran of product management and marketing, he spent nine years at Microsoft where he helped launch Windows 95, the first two versions of Internet Explorer, the Universal Plug and Play initiative, the push into home markets, opt-in email marketing and what might well go down in history as the very first direct email list ever.

Silly me. I googled myself tonight (mostly to read old FidoNet flames directed at myself, they are still good for a smile) — and I find Alec's blog! Alec, speaking of things Canadian, is it possible to get Tim Horton donuts by mail order? It's over 5 hours to the nearest one!

I've never heard that it was possible Vince, and I can understand why. Being an ardent Tim's fan myself I've held extensive conversations with one of the local franchise operators, and learned that Tim's donuts are finished in small quantities, to order, on premise. They never make more than 14 of any particular type at a time, in order to always have fresh donuts… hence the slogan "Always Fresh". And you thought it was referring to the coffee! Sorry!
