I’ve just heard the news that Pope John Paul is dead. The papers, of course, have been full of stories of the vigils all day. I remember when he became Pope. At the time I was in 10th grade. Little did I know how influential he would be. The radio is speaking of his life — how he lived through nazism, communism, and the role he played in the fall of comunism. Rest in peace, John Paul. Yours was a life lived.
