Day 3 at VON: It’s been a whirlwind. Haven’t actually had time to see a lot of the show floor, which I’ve been trying to do for the last two days. I saw John Sculley’s speech this morning. His company, OpenPeak, has used UPnP to facilitate the discovery of telephony devices on the home LAN. Very cool stuff!
I also spent a few minutes over on the Mitel area of the Microsoft booth. Another interesting idea — let’s give presence information on not just me, but all the activities I do. In a call center environment, it might be really important to know that I am currently occupied sending a fax, for instance.
