Konfabulator for Windows

Konfabulator for Windows has just been released. It reminds me of Serence’s Klipfolio.  A lot of hoopla, and I have to confess that I don’t quite understand the appeal.  Both remind me of the Windows 98 era Active Desktop, which I thought was a great idea at the time.  But like Active Desktop, the theory of the tool seems somehow much more compelling than the actual usage.

The FCC rules

The FCC ruled today that VoIP is an interstate service, and that individual states cannot regulate it.  Big sigh of relief south of the border.  Of more interest than the ruling itself were Chairman Powell’s remarks.  Powell gets it.  VoIP is not your father’s telephone anymore.
