Big ideas in my inbox

It’s been my day for having neat ideas pop into my newsreader.  So, without further ado…

The Smug Canada writes about the idea of adding RSS to video games.  The idea is you could publish stats, subscribe to other peoples feeds and so on.  What about the idea of using FOAF as a rendezvous mechanism too?

Roland Tanglao snipped a pretty juicy bit of text from Red Herring’s latest article on pervasive computing. It asks “(What happens) when the Web is experienced not as a separate universe, but an overlay on the world?”.  Pervasive computing is not a new idea, of course, but early experiments in communicating devices have been all about small amounts of data being sent from device to device.  What happens in a world of meshed Wi-Fi networks when every device we carry has an IP address, and is continuosly connected to the rest of the world?
