Cline 2001 Zinfandel

by alec on May 1, 2004

Found the Cline 2001 Zinfandel on the LCBO shelf this evening.  I was in search of something inexpensive ($15.10 at the LCBO), and good to go with BBQ’d food.  This one has a classic zinfandel nose of berries and spice, but surprises on the palate.  It’s tangy, with the characteristic berries and cherry of zin, but not jammy, nor excessively tannic.  At 13.8% it’s lighter in alcohol than many zins today, and that manifests itself as a lighter, more refreshing wine than a lot of the more powerful zins out there.  Yummy!

Congratulations to Dexit
