Global Warming

by alec on August 5, 2002

In the 1990′s economic losses from extreme weather amounted to US$399 billion, according to the Globe and Mail.  The northern nations are having their hottest summer yet, and the finger is being pointed at global warming. Not that I doubt the effect of carbon dioxide on our planet, but I found this article a little tough to stomach.  The author did not link greenhouse gases to the temperature rise we’re having this summer through any kind of logical argument, but rather jumped directly to the conclusion that greenhouse emissions are the problem.  It reads as an opinion piece, and not front page material.
